'Chill-Out' and 'Sad peacock'

A soap for hot summer days- Mint & Lemon

I made this one with my fave milk combo in soap - goat milk, yogurt and heavy cream.

Besides, it's loaded with shea butter and almond  oil for providing enough moisture and hydratation to skin during summer months.
Smells like mint, lemon with a floral hint - quite refreshing and invigorating!
That floral hint gave me a pretty nasty discolouration in the base portion in the first, swirled layer! The upper part was spoon-layered and could have been better done. The balls on the top are covered with mica in oil emulsion and I know it will be rubbed off easily. I have read someone uses a hair-spray to make mica stick to the cured soap, but I don't use any, so....some day when I get one, I might try this.

Freshly poured soap
This is my peacock swirl attempt. I was happy to have had outcome like on the picture below, but not so happy to discover what it has turned into next morning.

The colours faded away, but this story I was telling you already, at some other place. :-)
This soap contains also three-milks combo along with sweet almond oil and I'm sure my friends and family will enjoy its beautiful scent and ingredients composition!

A new soap is upcoming, stay tuned...

  1. Wow, your chill-out soap looks like a landscape. Like a dessert with several moons in the sky. I like it a lot.
Sorry that the colors of our peacock soap faded. They were so beautiful in the raw soap.

  4. Wow, wow, wow, Maja! The chill-out soap is more than a soap, it's pure art!
I had the same with my peacock soap, I thought it only happens to natural colorants( or did you also use natural colorants?). Still , the soap is beautiful, Maja!

  6. Both soaps are gorgeous, Maja! "Chill Out" looks beautiful with all of the embeds and swirls, and lemon and mint are so refreshing together. It's too bad that the colors faded in the sad peacock, but it is still nice, and I'm sure that everyone will enjoy it.

    1. Thanks Jenny, neither turned out as planned, but the 'peacock' really seemed to be piece of cake, but when you expect the least, troubles occurs... Going further...

  7. Loving the chill out soap, so pretty, kind of like Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Your faded peacock would appeal to someone who loves pastel colours and wants some colouring but not anything that stood out too much. And you can still see the pattern, which I think is neat.

    1. I'm blushing... comparing me to 'Starry Night'...- it's a top compliment, thank you, Monica!
You see, I never thought my 'Peacock' could actually appeal to someone who doesn't know what it should have looked like! Interesting point, thanks!

    2. Your work is amazing Maja, you're the soaping equivalent of the great painters. :)

I think with anything subjective like this, it's bound to appeal to someone. I honestly believe in some ways it's more beautiful because it is so different from the other peacock soaps I've seen.

  8. Love Chill Out, what a fun soap! Your peacock swirl is amazing...kudos to you for trying it, I couldn't bring myself to try it! I do love the soft colors your peacock swirl turned too. Also, if you have rubbing alcohol, that might help the mica stick?

    1. You should try it, you can always leave the top unfragranced,it means a lot when you're not sure how one will behave. The technique is really amazing, but the wet soap cannot be compared to cut pieces. It's just not that beutiful when cut, that's why took mw so lolng to try my luck with it. I might have better stayed away.... lol!

I have ethanol (ethyl alcohol), whilst the rubbing alcohol is isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol). Do you think it makes difference to the soap?

    2. I will definitely this technique one day, it looks so beautiful! I would give the ethyl alcohol a try, you could always try it on a scrap piece of soap and see if it works. This is the trick I use for glitter and it works well, so it's worth a try with mica :)
